Jim Takes Flight

Nothing was going to stop 87-year old Jim Willis from living his dream to go hang gliding. He was a cancer survivor, and had met the challenges of knee, hip, and shoulder replacements. This Brookdale resident from Freedom Village in Bradenton, Florida had been pumped to “float in the air like a bird.”

In partnership with Wish of a Lifetime, TENA sent Jim on a tandem hang gliding flight on January 27, 2017. Fellow Brookdale residents and his wife of 67 years joined Jim on his trip to Wallaby Ranch, cheering him on as he soared from 2000 feet up in the air. Jim shared, “This will show older people in our retirement home that you are never too old to try something new!”
